Dale was presented with his award as part of our 50th anniversary celebration in 2011

Dale Smith has been an NMRA member since 1973. He has been instrumental in arranging various trips and tours, often providing the transportation needed. Dale has held the positions of Assistant Superintendent, Director, Promo Day coordinator, and Tripmaster. He was also Co-Chairman of our 2005 and 2011 regional conventions. He has put on a number of slide shows of his many railfanning trips. Dale is the "Son" in the "Smith & Son Ballast", working with his father in this model railroad business. He has also been a regular participant in his dad's operating sessions. Dale arranges our meetings at Hambden Town Hall and does the post-meeting cleanup. He is someone who is always on hand to help or provide needed materials.
